The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a qualified Architect-Engineering (AE) firm that specializes in the design of parking lots, pedestrian facilities, curb ramps, and crosswalks, and parking lots (healthcare facilities and campus settings).  The AE firm will be required to provide Schematics, Design Development, Construction Documents, Technical Specifications, Construction Period Services, Site Visits, Cost Estimates, As-Built Documentation, and all other related information for Project 632-21-102, Parking Lot Project at the Northport VA Medical Center, 79 Middleville Road, Northport, NY 11768.

This requirement is for the rehabilitation of roadways; parking lots; walkways; curbs, site drainage and other paved areas located in the existing Parking Lot C, as well as the areas of the site which will be vacated once Buildings 1 and 2 have been demolished and the grading restored.

SCOPE OF SERVICE REQUIRED

On Project No. 631-21-102 ̶ Parking Lot Project, the A/E shall perform a complete survey to the existing conditions and provide recommendation to the VA for review; upon approval the A/E will develop designs and prepare the construction document package with bid alternatives that can be readily identified and listed in the procurement documents; the A/E shall provide construction period services and post-construction services.

4 Firms Awarded A Combined $240,000,000 Contract For Construction Projects in Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune

NAVY Awards the following a firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity multiple award construction contract for various construction projects primarily in Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and the surrounding area:

  1. Mechworks Mechanical Contractors Inc., Beaufort, North Carolina
  2. North State Mechanical Inc. Jacksonville, North Carolina
  3. R&W Construction Co. Inc., Jacksonville, North Carolina
  4. Siler Excavating LLC, Clairfield, Tennessee

The maximum dollar value for all four contracts combined is $240,000,000. The work to be performed provides for a range of new construction, renovation, alteration and repair for mechanical, electrical and plumbing projects. Types of buildings and facilities include administrative, industrial, warehouses, maintenance, communications, schools/training/education, personnel support, recreational, food services, training areas/ranges, roads, systems and utility infrastructure.

The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, engineering, design, materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies and transportation, to perform all of the services described in the plans and specifications for each task order. All work on this contract will be performed in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and the surrounding area. The term of the contract is not to exceed 60 months, with an expected completion date of August 2025. Future task orders will be primarily funded by operations and maintenance (Marine Corps). This contract was competitively procured via the Navy Electronic Commerce Online website with 11 proposals received. These four contractors may compete for task orders under the terms and conditions of the awarded contract.

NAVY Awards Whiting-Turner Contracting Co $149,115,855 for Construction of Hurricane Florence Recovery Package 1 located in Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point

Whiting-Turner Contracting Co., Greenbelt, Maryland, is awarded a $149,115,855 firm-fixed-price contract for construction of Hurricane Florence Recovery Package 1 located in Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point. The contract also contains 21 planned modifications and six unexercised options, which if exercised, would increase cumulative contract value to $161,250,305. This project provides replacements for various buildings damaged during Hurricane Florence.

The proposed replacements are divided into five separate projects:

  1. Construction of a 23,000 square foot, two-story security building and a 15,000 square foot, two-story headquarters and headquarters squadron (H&HS) and Marine wing headquarters squadron (MWHS-2) facility.
  2. Construction of a 36,000 square foot vehicle maintenance shop.
  3. Fire stations replacement involving construction of a 32,000 square foot main fire station with five bays and a 12,000 square foot satellite fire station with two bays.
  4. Range operations center (ROC) replacement involving construction of a 15,000 square foot ROC to support range management activities at Bombing Target 11.
  5. Station academic facility/auditorium involving construction of a 21,000 square foot general-purpose auditorium to provide an assembly area for instruction, training, and movies.

Work will be performed in Cherry Point, North Carolina, and is expected to be completed by August 2025. Fiscal 2019 military construction (MILCON), Marine Corps (MC) contract funds in the amount of $132,325,843; and fiscal 2020 MILCON, MC contract funds in the amount of $16,790,012, are obligated on this award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
