The 175’ Coastal Buoy Tender (WLM) currently uses a Pyrotronics System 3 for fire and smoke detection system. The system is obsolete and no longer supported by the original manufacturer now owned by Siemens. An automatic fire and smoke alarm system consists of a fire detection and alarm central control panel, repeater panels (if needed), detectors, and manually operated call points located throughout the vessel in the various structural fire zones, and audible and visual alarms to signal the presence or indication of fire.
