Construction of a reinforced concrete slab to support the 20 SOS Mobile Armory (ARMAG). ARMAG B198 to be relocated from current location to new concrete slab on flight line. Existing electrical transformer to be demolished and replaced with a 500kVA unit and 240 volt step down to support additional electrical requirements of mobile ARMAG. Provide tap off the new transformer to a service disconnect, to a step down dry-pack transformer in low voltage (below 600 VAC) wiring that will service the ARMAG. Provide interior and exterior lighting, ATFP requirements, Electronic Security Systems (ESS) and all piping and wiring for Intrusion Detection System (IDS).

Noble Supply & Logistics Awarded $90M for facilities maintenance, repair and operations supplies.

Noble Supply & Logistics,* Rockland, Massachusetts, has been awarded a maximum $90,000,000 firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract for facilities maintenance, repair and operations supplies. This was a sole-source acquisition using justification 10 U.S. Code 2304 (c)(1), as stated in Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1. This is a 412-day bridge contract with no option periods. Locations of performance are Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Massachusetts with a Jan. 14, 2023, ordering period end date. Using customers are Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY. The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is currently in the process of determining the acquisition strategy and whether a socio-economic set-aside or small business would be appropriate for this acquisition. To that end, the USCG is seeking to identify potential vendors that possess the capabilities to provide Contractor International Training and Analysis Support Services for the USCG, Directorate of International Affairs and Foreign Policy Advisor (DCO-I).

This is a sources sought notice and request for information (RFI). The draft Statement of Work (SOW) is attached for reference.

Any interested party may submit a capability statement by 4:00pm ET by Wednesday, January 5, 2022. The capability statement shall address your organization’s relevant experience in performing the requirements set forth under Section 2 of the attached draft SOW. Additionally, when submitting a capability statement, please include the following information:

1. Company name
2. Company address
3. Company Point of Contact (POC) information
4. Company’s DUNs number
5. Company’s GSA schedule contract number (if applicable)
6. Company’s socio-economic status(es)/business size status

General Dynamics Awarded $149M for DDG planning yard services.

General Dynamics, Bath Iron Works, Bath, Maine, is awarded a $149,346,411 cost-plus-award-fee modification against previously awarded contract N00024-19-C-4452 for DDG planning yard services. Work will be performed in Bath, Maine, and is expected to be completed by January 2023. Fiscal 2022 operations and maintenance (Navy) funding in the amount of $889,173 will be obligated at time of award and will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion, and Repair, Bath, Maine, is the contracting activity.

General Dynamics is a prime military contractor to the Pentagon (the US government accounts for over 65% of sales). The company’s Marine Systems unit builds surface combatants, auxiliary and combat-logistics ships, and nuclear submarines. The Aerospace division – composed of Gulfstream Aerospace and Jet Aviation – makes and refurbishes business jets primarily for civilian customers. This is a Request for Information (RFI) as defined in FAR 15.201(e). The Government is requesting information regarding industry’s capabilities and related experience for production and engineering of the United States Navy’s (USNs) future MK 99 Fire Control System (FCS). The primary efforts include the production of Continuous Wave Illuminator (CWI) radar transmitters, Data Converter Cabinets (DCC), ancillary equipment and spares for the MK 99 FCS, as well as associated engineering services to generate and deliver the MK 99 FCS Technical Data Package (TDP), and to provide technical data for the follow-on configuration to the MK 99 FCS TDP in accordance with MIL-STD-31000B.

The USN program provides the equipment that generates Radio Frequency (RF) energy at nominal power to the Director Group Antenna for target and missile illumination. This is shipboard tactical equipment which meets Navy Surface Ship Environmental Qualification Requirements for installation aboard U.S. and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) ships.

The Government anticipates a majority of the work to be performed at the contractor’s site.

115: Martha Daniel – School of hard knocks lands more than $350M in contracts

My guest in this week’s podcast, Martha Daniel whom I had the pleasure to meet at the VIB Conference San Diego transformed Information Management Resources, Inc. (IMRI) into an award winning service disabled veteran business.

She originally founded the company with a partner and after they separated she had to buy the company back from the original partner. With no money, she had to find a creative way to pull it off. Learn how she was able to raise the capital necessary to buy her ex partner out and take full control of the company.

In 1996 she entered the 8a program winning her first contract with DISA. At one point she remembers a CO asking her what type of vehicle she had and thought what a strange question when we are discussing my company’s capabilities.

Does this sound familiar? If you’re like most of us, the beginning stages are a whirlwind of mumbo jumbo, but you must stay the course.

I asked her what changed since being in the business for 30+ years. What training did she have that helped her succeed all these years, and what should successful entrepreneurs fear the most personally, professionally and emotionally.

She tells me the two things that were hard when she started, that still remain a challenge today, how she obtained her first past performance, when did she start hiring people and recommendations for the next generation of small businesses.

As an industry veteran you would be wise to open your ears, close your mouths, relax your mind and focus on Martha’s wisdom for the next 90 minutes.

The Corps of Engineers Fort Worth District is soliciting comments from the construction community addressing the potential use of Project Labor Agreements (PLAs) from large scale construction projects (exceeding $25 million). This market survey is being posted for the Fort Hood Block Hammerhead Barracks Renovation, Fort Hood, Texas. This will be a solicitation for a construction contract award for Fiscal Year 2021.

This project will revitalize/renovate four existing Hammer Head Barracks B10001, B10002, B10003, and B10004 at Fort Hood, TX. The Strategic, Operational, Rockets and Missiles (STORM) Project Office (PO) has a requirement to provide continued production of Improved Armored Cabs (IAC) for the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) (hereafter referred to as IAC Modification Kits) for the Department of Defense.

The IAC kits provide increased crew protection by replacing the armor surrounding the crew to meet ballistic protection requirements, provide blast protection seating, enhancing the transparent armor, and reducing training requirements for the crews by providing more commonality between the MLRS and High Mobility Artillery Rocket System Launcher.
